Hotel Rimini
About the Hotel
This historic five-star hotel on the Adriatic Riviera, dates from the early twentieth century and it has shared in the periods of splendor and of decline which have characterized the history of Italy. The Grand Hotel was immortalized by Federico Fellini, who featured the hotel in many of his best-loved films and thus brought it world-wide fame. In particular, Fellini reproduced the matchless and overwhelming atmosphere of the hotel in the film "Amarcord".
In Rimini, the hotel has always been considered a "benchmark" of luxury and Italian hospitality. In 2002 it was taken over by the Advance Hotel Group, a recently formed company which brings together two families of hoteliers: the Janotta family from Castione della Presolana, Bergamo, and the Bernardi family from Rimini. They are now operating under the prestigious trademark of Exclusive Hotels of Italy.
Over the years the Grand Hotel Rimini, which stands in its own recently restructured park and grounds, has retained its own special fascination. Indeed, it is recognized as a national monument and is under the protection of the Superintendent of Fine Arts. This year, restoration work on the hotel is being continued, and every care is being taken to respect the original style. The entrance hall and the public rooms on the ground floor have already been restored to their former splendor, and soon the rest of the hotel will follow.
The Grand Hotel Rimini has 120 rooms including: 3 Regal Suites, 9 Junior Suites and 6 large apartments. All the rooms are luxuriously furnished and still preserve the original parquet floorings and Venetian chandeliers. The best of traditional Italian cuisine is served in the dining-room, where it is possible to sense the atmosphere of the past through the furnishings, the paintings and the lighting. The same is true of the large terrace which during summer months becomes the setting for dancing, entertainment and concerts of a high quality.
The Hotel complex also includes:
- "La Residenza" - which is situated just a few meters from the main hotel and is itself
a five-star hotel with 51 rooms including 3 junior suites.
- The Congress Centre - a modern building with 7 meeting rooms adaptable in size
(for a total of 630 persons) and well- equipped, where important conferences, seminars
and workshops, both national and international, are held throughout the year.
Guests of the Grand Hotel Rimini can choose to relax beside the well-equipped swimming pool, in the magnificent park, or on the hotel's private beach. This has also been upgraded and provides all the necessary comfort and equipment, together with a new restaurant and a sea-water swimming pool.
Those who love sport can make use of the "keep-fit" facilities in the hotel gym, practice their swing on the hotel's putting-green, play tennis on the clay court or enjoy a variety of water-sports: wind-surfing, sailing or hire a motor-boat.
Situated a few kilometers away, there is the Rimini Golf Club, which has an 18 hole course (72 par).
