Verona Opera Festival Option

"In the 1st century BCE Verona was a flourishing colony of the Roman Empire."

"Verona, built from pink marble, is one of Italy's most beautiful cities"

Founded during Roman times, there are still many ancient monuments to be seen including the Arena, famous for its summer opera performances. Verona also has a fascinating medieval centre which comes alive in summer with open air markets and cafes, Art and architecture abound - a delight for the culture seeker.

Verona boasts a number of monuments of this time especially the magnificent amphitheatre, the Arena. Built in the 1st century it is one of the most important and best preserved Roman amphitheatres in the world. Inside, the pit is surrounded by 44 tiers of steps and can hold up to 22,000 spectators.

The year, 2005, will be the 83rd festival of open-air performances of opera which draws people from all over the world. Once again this year, Eddie's Travel will provide the Kosher traveler with the opportunity to partake of the glories of one of the greatest events of the opera calendar from 24th August to 1st September, 2005 while tending to all your Kosher dietary needs and luxury accommodation.

This incredible experience for music loving Kosher travelers will be fully escorted and transport will be arranged to and from our hotel - Savoy Palace. Transport costs will be finalized once the total size of the group participating in the opera is finalized.

The Amphitheater

The size of the arena with its amazing acoustics is impressive with up to 300 actors and singers at any one time and even, in some productions, horses and donkeys on stage. The virtuosity of Verdi, the power of Puccini and the brilliance of Bizet make your night at the opera an unforgettable experience.
