5 MORE TIPS TO LOOK FOR IN A PASSOVER PROGRAM

The old adage “you get what you pay for” applies most pertinently to Passover programs. With so many to choose from, we present 10 tips to help make your decision simpler

Here goes:

 1. DINING & WINES:

Check if your package includes full board or half board. Many hotels switch to half board on Chol Hamoed and if your family is hungry at lunchtime, you will have to buy lunch at the Hotel cafeteria or restaurant which you will be billed for. Does the program offer an early dinner for kids so you can relax at your meal?

Check that the Hashgacha, Gebrochts/Shruya, Kitniyot are provided according to your Minhag/custom is satisfactory. Is the Mashgiach always on site? Check that chefs and staff are experts and experienced in Pesach cooking and know how to present a wide variety of foods.

Do they cater for Vegetarians, Diabetic, and Allergies? Passover is a festival of wine drinking. Are the wines included with your meals or do you have to charge this back to your room? Is there a decent selection of wines to choose from?

 2. ALL DAY SNACKS & REFRESHMENTS:

Does the Hotel provide all day snacks and refreshments and drinks for the kids and adults? Remember once you leave the Hotel you many not find Kosher Le'pesach foods. These extras mount up and you pay for it upon checking out.

 3. FAMILY PACKAGES:

What price are you paying for kids under 17? Are you paying full adult price for your teenagers? Does your operator offer Family Plan Rates? If children share a room with adults, what will their fee be?

 4. SPECIAL ATMOSPHERE:

Does the program offer professional Scholar in Residence and Ba’alei tefilah that ensure a special Ruach throughout the Tefilla and chag? Is their a supervised kids tefilla program? Is the Hotel selling rooms to the general public that will dilute the flavor of the program? Does the program offer the full 8 days for visitors from Chutz La'aretz who keep 2 days Chag? Is there daily entertainment for kids and Adults especially in the evenings?

 5. FREE TRANSPORTATION:

Does the program offer free transport from the major cities in Israel at no extra charge? Does the program offer a transfer service to and from the airport?

And finally…SATISFACTION:

Are you getting value for money in your Passover program? Have you made a true comparison? Is your operator pampering your every need? Do they leave you with souvenirs in your room that make the Pesach extra memorable?
